Interiors that reflect you.

Helm Studio seal

Helm Studio is a full-service interior design firm out of Austin, Texas. At our core, we're a little Type A, a lot hustle, and completely furniture-obsessed. If you want a team that's genuinely enthusiastic about creating turnkey spaces that represent you and your family, you've come to the right place. A refresh, a renovation, a new build — it can all feel daunting, which is why we bring experience and precision to every delivery, with timely communication holding your hand along the way. We know a designer relationship is an intimate one, and we take it seriously: think trusted confidante, marriage counselor (kidding... sorta), and advocate, all in one.

Christie, Founder
Good design should make you stop dead in your tracks — it should shock the senses while evoking a feeling of nostalgia.

Christie's path to design wasn't linear. She studied Business Management at San Diego State University, and after a brief stint in Private Wealth Management, she realized her true passion was designing beautiful spaces. She pivoted from finance to design, later completing her certificate in Interior Design and Interior Architecture through UC Berkeley's extension program. She got her start helping tech companies reimagine multi-level office environments through a furniture dealership — but after four years, she found herself craving a more personal approach to design. That pull led her to residential work, and she never looked back. Most recently, Christie served as lead designer at one of Austin's top design firms. With eight years in the industry behind her, she launched Helm Studio in March 2026.

Christie's design sensibility leans mid-century modern and modern contemporary, but she considers her true superpower the ability to understand a wide range of styles and translate them through her clients' own vision — layering in her expertise and perspective along the way.

Every project has a unique story waiting to be told. As a designer, Christie is here to help you co-author your definition of home: a space that's a pure reflection of your interests and the way you live.

What we take on

Three ways in
01FurnishingFor spaces that just need the final layer — sourcing, styling, and install.
02RenovationReworking a home's existing bones into something that finally fits how you live in it.
03New buildDesign brought in early, alongside architects and builders, so the interior isn't an afterthought — concept through installation, with every material, fixture, and finish decided and delivered by the studio.

Typical Project Workflow

01—Getting to Know You

Every project starts with a programming session, before any designing begins, to understand your routines, your family life, and your goals for the home. We walk and measure the space, document what's there, and align on scope, budget, and timeline.

02—Setting the Direction

This is where we nail down the overarching feeling and direction for your spaces. To capture the unique essence of your home, we curate mood boards and color palettes before any selections are made to ensure alignment. Once we have your sign-off, we embark on one of the more exciting phases: actual selections!

03—The Selections

With the concept approved, we present initial material and finish samples and a scaled furniture layout tailored to your routine and lifestyle. From there we refine every selection: furniture, lighting, and fixtures, plus finishes including paint, wallpaper, tile, flooring, and window treatments. Specialty millwork and custom details are designed here, all while carefully maintaining a detailed budget.

04—Drawings for the Build

Detailed digital drawings for use by contractors and tradespeople, covering floor plans, interior elevations, specialty millwork, custom design details, lighting and electrical plans, and finish schedules to ensure precision in execution.

05—On Site

We serve as the on-site liaison between contractors and trades, regularly monitoring construction progress and answering questions as they come up, to ensure the design vision is executed with accuracy and integrity.

06—Ordering & Tracking

Our team places all the orders for a hassle-free, seamless process. Every piece is tracked from purchase through delivery, and we handle any delays, backorders, or damages along the way.

07—Install Day

Our team works with a top-tier receiving warehouse who will inspect every item and store it safely so that we can install all items, or phased items, in one fell swoop. We then work with professional moving teams to ensure a seamless installation. We place and style every item with care, walk the finished space with you, and make sure it's move-in ready when we're complete.
